Long Time Now

What are your thoughts, Moon
where do your rays settle, Sun
we are warm drifting
on the night winds
on the lunar shine
with fistfuls of sand
that won't open up their granule
or speak to us
of their origin
yet, they smell of
footprints
long time, now time
i have forsaken
the city
to get closer
to the tides of lulling
come in, near; nearer
lap at my toes…....
