Memories of Sails
June 27th 2007 10:19
Every tear wails
to get back
to the sea of belonging
this too is life....
tossed and embattled
wet, the scurvy stings
we wrap ourselves
in memories of sails
calm waters within their folds
captains and deck men
blink blink away the tears
and shoot red into
the black, still night
and we...
we await the hope
of the lighthouse
this too is life....

my muse is on vacation, she has sent me a postcard. she's living it up, she writes, and bathing in the sun, sipping Tia Maria and dancing the night away. she says 'tear out an old page', so i did.

Flashes of memories
Our muses must be on holiday together - getting away from the cold winter air.
This is such a beautiful statement:
to get back
to the sea of belonging
such a great piece

I've sent her many postcards, but she's ignoring me. Isn't it meant to be the other way around?
warm hugs,

Must be a muse-fest somewhere, 'cause mine's on holiday, too. (waves at Ash).
I love this... the poem itself is great, but that last bit about the muse? Ha! She writes postcards! Beautiful!
I often find that tearing out the old pages can be as therapeutic as writing new ones. Half the reason I write is so I can go back later and absorb or learn from the energy of what was written.
May the muses exhaust themselves in pleasure and return home shortly. They should know by now that we get utterly lost without them...
*hugs*

reading some of my old stuff has been insightful Wendi, lots of mixed reactions, some i just frowned at, but some said, 'hey, say me again' .. remembering ..
nice to see your flutter by miss Wendi..
