Note: The last one is two scans seamed, and brightened too much (lost so much detail, still have a lot to learn). i hope to get a good digcam shot IF i can find the original -- say no more.

Lily,

I like the drawings but I've got no idea about whose they are.

I need a bit more info.

There is an unbelievable promise of art in these pics, Id like to see them with the detail you say you lost, because I think theyre fantastic! I wish I could draw like that!

Kleo, If you click on them, you can see the detail. These are original scans, which turned out quite grey. If i find the original drawing, i'll have to iron it, then point the digcam at it.

i know i'm biased, but i think she's a bit of a natural. By the way, the creatures are based on her friends. She is the bird, she says.

Ave'a'good'weekend sweets,

Lily,

Nanashi is my favorite--so impeccably and realistically rendered!

If I may ask, how old is your daughter? I just love her art! She's definitely a natural!

I like Shira and Nanashi. Thats whats called 'natural talent' you know. Ive been sketching for YEARS and I cant make realisim like that! I have to call myself an 'abstract artist' and pretend I never meant it to be realistic.

Hi Jeanne,

My daughter is 12, and has been drawing for a long time now. She wants to be an artist when she grows up (that's happening pretty - ugh - fast). I hope she gets a good art teacher at high school next year.

Hi Kleo,

I'm too un-focused and impatient to draw for long. I admire her ability to pore over the page. btw, abstract artists think outside the box, not a bad thing.

Thanks to you both for visiting Shining Nova's little exhibit.

Hi, Lily!

I enjoyed the visit very much!

It's hard to believe your daughter is only 12; she's very good--but that's the way it is with natural talent! (And, yes, they do grow up very fast! It seems that one day you turn around and they're all grown up!)

Hopefully she WILL have a good art teacher next year; though, with her talent, I suspect that she will continue to grow and develop as an artist, naturally--regardless of who her art teacher is.

Wishing her the best in her future endeavors,
Jeanne

Hi Jeanne,

Let me add to that, i hope she has a patient art teacher. She's a little on the.........moody side ::: smile :::

The funny thing is, her older sister wants to be, an Art Teacher -- and has chosen her VCE subjects to that course.

Lily,

Aren't artists ALWAYS on the moody side? Any experienced art teacher should more or less be used to that, I would think. *smile*

What a wonderful goal her older sister has! I wish her all the best, as well! Both your daughters have great aspirations!

Two of my sons are very artistic, so I understand completely! Actually, my daughter is also.

aspirations

I'm very grateful they have them......

I wonder how much we've spent on paper, pencils, paint etc etc??

AH! Now I know what Ive lost! Give kitten a hug for me....And THANKYOU Lily! I used to spend HOURS on one drawing, (usually requiring lots of dragon scales..) and now Im impatient, trying to force the characters out in time with my schedule....Silly, naughty little artist, slap on the knuckles for you, no wonder your novel muse left, look how the sketch one's been treated....
And as Kara Thrace says...."Outside the box is where I live..."

the muses don't know what time is..
keep on keeping on.... if at first you fail, try and try again .. and all that jazz... or just leave it on the desk until a muse taps...

got crowded inside that box Kleo..
