Reverie; A Reflection, A Collaboration

November 6th 2006 05:17
Reverie; A Reflection

Reverie; A Reflection

Reverie; A Reflection has flourished into a collaboration by Lily and Lilla

Lily

The black swans are quiet
and there is no wind today
the river is calm with only
the slightest ripples

the last time i was here
i could hear the waterfalls
roaring beyond the mountains
the reverie; the strength of sound

there is baby's tears all over
the forest floor; like god had
spread open a green blanket
i yearn to lay down upon them

ancient tree, you blush again
shedding your old wise skin,
a black panther sleeps in a nook
of your sun-reaching limbs

birds circle the juicy tree tops
but it's orchids that love me most
they always remain the same,
tongues ready for a passing bee

Lilla

I loved the silence
and wanted to dive into the water's, cool...
not an ocean,
but refreshing still.

I hadn't the time to stop,
and feel this reverie,
but the silence carried me,
to where I was ...afloat

... back into the city's swill,
a ray of light, amidst the gray,
amidst the clashing, of
...just another working day.

Lily

No salt or clashing
in clear streams where
reveries sate our thirst
and lift our graying souls

sit upon the grassy bank
we'll let our toes dip and play
pull out our hairties and be
revived by the beauty

picking up pebbles
we take the one with us
that sits comfortably
in our work-beaten hands....

My heartfelt thank you Lilla, for taking the stroll with me

You're just hooked on those bees now aren't you Lily?

Hopefully there's no need for the bee police to invade such a tranquil area - it's obviously not in Kirkland. ; )

hi again MelissaA, oh i've always loved bees.. stems from the time i was bitten by two as a kid.. after i knew i would be ok, i learnt about them from mama for future reference .. and have been fascinated ever since... I find the sexual nature of the bee and flower relationship, is thrilling... no laws or superblasters for these bees.. here, they are where they're supposed to be...

Thanks so for stopping by Melissa...
i'll be back later on to read more Orble-going ons.

Ahhhh...biting bees - now there's a rare breed indeed.

I've been stung by so many it's ridiculous - especially when you consider the origins of my name. ; )

MelissaA,

do tell of the origins of your name!

They say bee's are attracted to some people more than others, i wonder why that is.. ?

The origins of Melissa are similar to each other, but not quite the same. the only thing they agree on is that Melissa is a name of Greek origin meaning"honey bee".

The most common storylines from ancient Greek mythology are:

1. Melissa was a Cretan princess of Crete who was changed into a bee after :

* she learned how to collect honey.

* being the carer of infant Zeus who fed him honey. When Zeus grew up, he turned her nurse into a real bee.

2. Melissa was a nymph that cared for young Zeus and protected him from Cronus His father) who turned her into an earthworm, but Zeus later turned her into a honeybee.

Greetings and welcome back MelissaA..

I'm loving this story behind your name; i really must study up on Greek Mythology more; it's fascinating.

So maybe Zues went on a rampage turning everyone into honeybees, and therefore to this day, they hang around cities like the one you mentioned on your; Weird Laws aka The Rebel Bees (the name of which completely escapes me atm).. I dunno, just where my mind goes... lol

I would tell you the origins of Lily, except that it's my pen name and i have no idea (curious now though); I based the name on a person that was closer to me than, well anybody...

It's funny you should mention honeybees, a friend just wrote me a song called 'honeybee'.. it has a very travelling melody

bee's are great; but then i'm a nature freak.. i have always, until recently, thought that all bees have stingers; but they dont!, though i'm not sure about where which ones live and all that jazz (god i'll be googling next). i do know that wasps are more aggressive and sting over and over, so they scare the shiteouttame...

Lily,

I caught up with you on Homer's blog.

What you said is spot on to what I have recently written in Conversation in the family, look at the billboard one. Did you write it?

I have just looked at the wilderness photo and read your poem, which I adored, you've used an old trick I used to use, leaving the i small. I used to delight in that in my poetry which I liked [and still do] to write without correction, that is the thrill of it.

But yours has been meticulously planned and is so much more true to poetry than mine ever was, but I did come up with some interesting themes.

I had no idea what further offerings lay in store. Well done, And I still like your red dress, it has style.

katyzzz,

i got so carried away writing poetry w/Lilla, that i missed your comment; much apologies and smacks for me....

Yes Homie and I go way back lol.. i do love to read him; fascinating fella with a beautiful mind, who knows the art of conversation.. a rare breed...

i am puzzled by your question 'did i write it?.. this poem or my comment on Homer's blog? .. i wrote both so that should cover the question

i often leave my i's small; i can't be bothered Capping them, as for writing without correction, i'm getting better at it, although my lazy mind likes to put loads of eclipses in.... see; and then these; semicolons keep on turning up -- and these double dashes... ah digress digress.

I didn't plan to write this particular one; some poems are just born and placed into my hands... poetry, to me, really is just allowing oneself to dream ponder travel and capture with words what you sense feel and see....

one day i'll have a red dress; my style

Lily,

I actually meant my blog post and the billboard,

but congrats on doing Homer's stuff, that must offer him some great relief.

Love those thoughts on Poetry, I've actually begun to realize there may be some people here smarter than me, i thought about i but preferred to put me......both egocentric....wouldn't you agree?

Keep up the great work, and I'll remember those bees, how do they do that?..... no, i don't mean how do they make the honey.

Lily,

I loved our poem and would like your permission to reprint it (in its entirity) on my envirowarrior site - with full accreditation. I love to include poetry and write it too. My current attempt is proving challenging. I'm trying to write a poem for each item people list as their favourite unrreplaceable object....

it's fun!

I look forward to your new words...

ahh well that is most certainly a compliment, i think.
and Homer is great stuff, we all agree....

You are talking to an egocentric person, but one with worlds to give -- bloody hell, what a paradox i am!!

now i am pondering bees and how they do THAT? (do what?) -- you do crank up the gears in my brain miss katyzzz

Lilla,

I was going to ask you the same thing; if i could modify mine and add the new streams in -- no worries... ..
(with link to your post of course) ...your view in contrast to mine is absolutely perfectamondo; thank you...

I have a Leunig picture w/poem that speaks of favourite worn and shabby domestic items, sort of tying in with your unrreplaceable objects. I know you would love it. I will find a way of getting it to you soon. Me, i would have to think about what my favourite irreplaceable object is.... ouch!

I will be reading your Dream Interpretations blog soon; as i have just had a flood of them, hence my muse perhaps...

smiling,

Hi Lily,

I think that I can write and express myself, and then I read poetry and think to myself, I have much to learn.

You say so much in so few words, it is a gift.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading your posts.

Mrs M,

You pay me a high compliment. Most of it is practice practice practice, a bit like sculpting, we chip away long enough, and the form appears. Then again, children can come out with the most profound and simple words that will rock the worlds of those who listen. Thanks for reading me, visiting me with your warmth..

Lilla,

The merriment was damn fine, as always with good friends, great music and a decent rye brew. My new glasses proved a little distracting as i spilt a nice slop down my cardigan... or hmmm, was it because it was my 3rd?? .. oh i do fib lol

I've had the best 4 days i've had for a long time my friend, thank you for asking... now we've both had merriment in the last week, maybe we should write a joyous poem about kicking up yer heels...

Lily and Lilla,

I felt a wonderful sense of peace and tranquillity from these poems, they went deep within and captured my soul, along with the photo of river and stream and the wondrous effects of light and green and trees and water.

Toes in the water appealed to my senses and I thrilled to the delight of the refreshing water beneath the bare skin of my feet.

I was also captured by the harmony of the collaboration.

A well thought out and poetic account that appealed to the senses.

Lily, I hope I haven't offended you in any way, it wasn't my intention. It's just that Lilla's words got to me, especially these ones:

"... back into the city's swill,
a ray of light, amidst the gray,
amidst the clashing, of
...just another working day."

I was in a certain frame of mind when I read that and they just seemed to echo my own thoughts.
