one spare pin
only one left
the seams of life
undone
the needles
itch for thread
the patchwork
of our lives
one big blanket
one big wrap
wrap it up sandman
before the frays
and patterns fade
the paisley partridges
hark the calling
of the machine
this chair is warm
my legs are covered
we like to dance smooth
in our wildest dreams

Flashes of memories
with the warmest caress
lulls a beating heart
and adds a square
to that blanket
that has no picture
but just colours
warmth
wonder
then stokes the fire
of lifes hearth
where the flames
flicker hot
and the coals
glow...
