She's got 'The Look'

January 4th 2007 21:36
The Look
'The Look'

When I woke up this morning, I wondered how i would tackle the 3 day rats nest that has formed beautifully, ha, upon my 12yos head. I must add she wears this 'do' with great pride.

'You're looking a bit feral, cheryl', I tell her. 'Hmmpff', she hmmpfs (she should teach hmmpff classes, she's that good). Apparently the imp has erased all memory of the last 10 times we had the rat's nest tussle. I hold the brush in my hand and tell her 'I promise i'll be gentle'. She laughs and throws me another hmmpff. Ah, it's all coming back to her now.

I peek into her hair and say 'hello little baby rat, wanna come out and play? Here is where I get 'the look', the one that holds hands with the hmmpff.

Speaking of 'The Look', here's another little scenario from The Book of Looks.

(me) 'No!!'
(feral) 'I don't know HOW you ever became my mum.'

Now, I realise that as she spends a little more time knocking around in the schoolyard of life, she will find better ways of telling me to 'rack off', but i had great pleasure the next day in saying 'darling (butter em up first for full attention) you know how yesterday you said you didn't know HOW I ever became your mum? weeell, you know when mummys and daddys have sex, you know, penises and vaginas and stuff, and the egg and sperm meet and......' (enter the look; add door slam).

Here is where i put on my look, because i didn't get to see 'the cringe.'

If she ever reads this; i swear she will make my life hell, hang on....

Why is it that mums LOVE making their kids squirm? Especially with topics of conversations like this....ug... *holds mouth while feeling seriously ill* way...WAY too much information for our delicate minds!

Lily,
Oh god, I loved this...*still laughing*

My younger daughter, age 11? Miss carbon copy of her mother?? *rolling my eyes...* She does this thing where she kind of cocks her head and blinks rather slowly. In my mind...I can literally see her climbing up on a high horse...that's how good it is.

This is my disagreeable child...sweet as pie. No one ever believes me. "She's SOOOOO sweet." Yep. But they weren't the ones who had to rearrange my living room when she was THREE...because she didn't like where I had things. She moved it all. Knickknacks, pictures...*sigh* To this day...it has not stopped.

God I love that kid...lol

Hi Voices,

oh i know that look, it's that 'ohh how dumb are YOU mum' look - i bet she sighs when she does it too. There are so many looks!!!! -- i loved the 'god i was just trying to help' look, when they moved cupboards and beds around, and threw out most of the clothes and toys I had bought them over the last couple of months .. not new enough?? guffaw...

the one i love the best is the morning i walked into the kitchen to find the coco pops emptied onto the floor (all of them, brand new pack) not a tile could be seen... and the feral rolling in them, eating them, putting them into cups and feeding them to her teddies.. the look on her face... she knew she was in trouble, but no way hosea did she care.... it was worth it...

they're not sweet, they're evil... lol

i swear i have that many stories.. i should write some more... she can sue me later...

*lol* my Godson gives me a good run for my money and provides me with enough reasons why it`s all good to wait a while longer - a few months ago I came into the bathroom where he had tipped all my brand new bottles of creams and bubbles baths and stuff into the loo and was 'making potions' and using the toothbrush as his spoon! hmmmm I hate to think what would have happened if I had not walked in when I had!
The poo thing - heck that can wait for the dad to take care of!

'The poo thing - heck that can wait for the dad to take care of!'

yeah, right

the imp was doing the same thing but in the bath, with all my bubble bath lotions, shampoo, conditioner, liquid soap, toothpaste, whatever she could get her hands on... she only just stopped it LAST YEAR ..

just call me Saint ma-mia....

Ahhhhh, giving kids the REAL facts of life.

Good work.

I can remember reading somewhere that you should tell your kids exactly what death is, so that when you threaten them with it, they know what you are talking about.
