The Sigh of the Pink Telephone

August 4th 2007 11:39
for you, no, for me

blah blah blah
i love to hear the sound
of my own voice
i'm so wise because
i gots kicked down so many times
and i'm gonna help you suckerr
by telling you all about my experience

ad nauseam

they may be a little skewed and swollen
but i will lick your face so the scent
of my pain will be near and you'll
never forget me because you know
i know everything there is about
what it's like to hurt, it's my calling
not many people do you know
i won't hear anything you say
at all because you are not important

i am

i will try try try oh so very hard
to not lie and leave a mess
to put on my clean dress
and try to be good
at hiding my agenda
i need face cleanser -- i need a new mirror
i need some new friends
i've left a trail of them behind

sigh

we are having a challenging day it seems...sorry about that...tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow belongs to US!!!...not 'them', not erstwhile friends....I too have too many of them...

the poem conveys what you are feeling well...so at least that is something positive...

cheers

Hi Lily

I have a few people like that in my life that make me want to crawl inside my head and come out when they're gone. Sometimes I'm like the proverbial animal (forgotten which one) caught in the headlights and can't say anything as I'm so stunned at how much a person can speak.

I've always wished I could think quicker on my feet. Ít's something that I'm trying to work on. Then other times I get so angry that they don't see me or listen to me that I just swear at them in my mind.....grrrrrhhhhhhh....

You expressed it so well

Hi Tracy,

I understand every single word you just said!! People need to shut up and listen more, and that includes me!!

Is my exasperation showing??

nice to see you gerl, and fergal (sharkie?) is adorable...

Hi Lily

I think my exasperation was definitely showing in my last comment!! It's so frustrating when it keeps happening isn't it? Do you mind me asking if you say anything to the person when this is happening? My husband says I need to voice up more which is true but I find that so hard and sometimes scary (depending on who the person is). Plus, I just don't understand why some people don't belt up!!!

I'm glad you like Fergal, he is a little angel, thanks,

'belt up!' hahahaha
i haven't heard that expression in aaaaaages... i'm putting that back into my vocab..

i tend to let people prattle on Tracy, and try not to prattle myself

Yeah, it is a phrase I would love to say to a few people in my life....I don't tend to whitter on because in those circumstances I can't get an opening to say something!! Ah well, thanks for letting me vent

Comment by Lily

August 6th 2007 23:23
even if you got an opening Tracy, i doubt you would be 'heard', you know?

i'll tell you something even worse, when 2 people talk AT you at the same time? i mean, i can multi-task, but perleeze...

yes, with certain people it does happen. I hate to sound jaded but the people that I'm thinking about allow me to speak for a min or two and then they lurch into their story which is exceedibngly long.

Gosh, two people doing it to me, I don't think that's happened thank Buddha. Does that happen to you sometimes? It sounds awful.

Hi Lily

Yes, there are lots of awful viruses around aren't there? Hope you're well (apart from being tired because of the extra hours).

Enjoy your haircut tonight, it's nice to have that bit of pampering I think,

Lily -

The diversity of your talent with words never ceases to amaze me -

We all seem to have a similar tale, the "voices" (of past, of present, of thought, of memory) that try to prevent us from moving, to keep us captive within our own selves, isolated and misunderstood.

*raises coffee mug* - To freedom, espression, and freedom of expression!

Wendi,

this was born out of severe frustration at someone who just won't shut the fuck up!!!

a good teacher of what not to be... ever!

your 'voice' and mine should get together.. and do a collab? wanna?

*more mug raises*

more mug raises for you Tracy

mine is yellow daisies on blue (hmm), with a polka dotted coffee pot and cup and saucer... and it's definitely a mug, none of this tiny cup thing.. unless it's expresso of course..

hope that sun comes out and finds you today, my friend...

Hi Lily and Wendi and anyone else in the same spot

I had one of those frustrating scenarios on the weekend and when I think if it all I can do is shake my head in disbelief and at other times I what to scream. It’s hard when it’s a consistent person in your life and you need to figure out how to deal with it, or get through it. I think some people are on auto-pilot, they just blurb out what they want regardless of who is around. F-ing annoying....and definitely not OK.

Thanks for your sunshine wishes (on a different note), I just had a long walk in the park with my pesky pooch and now it's just started raining. I love weather changes and it's that atmospheric kind of rain.

My cup has multicoloured stripies...I love it....

Thanks for creating a venting zone,

Byeeee

Hi Tracy,

i swear some days i like animals more than people, a generalisation of course, but nonetheless..

in my job, i face people that can be difficult.. by the time i get home, i'm over people, and remember, that includes myself... this is where poetry can come to the rescue ... a good take-me-away...

love to you and pooch, glad the rain held off...
