The Touch

The Touch





















borne of ambient light

Time ...
tick tocks
echoing off the rocks
oh i shall not rhyme
takes too much time

the flood gates open with
each second, each bay
enveloping the swimmers
playing ball, sending waves
across the deep blue

see how they sparkle with
the crisp kisses of the sun?

we like to feel the warm
sand running, through our
fingers, the touch, the touch

everglades, full of larvae
far, far in the distance...

This soothes the soul.

Just got home...thought I'd come and see how you are before I turn my computer off and turn in for the night (well okay maybe not sleep...the delicious aroma[n] of pine/ocean/bread awaits me)

The image mesmerizes me...
stars seen through teal nebulae
or a sun's sparkle on sea.

Your words...ahh your words...simple alone. Simply magical bound together.

Dusk,

this one is very recent and reflects the stars in my eyes when i think of someone special... as well as moving away from swamps...

i love that; i see you wax poetical often in your comments.... you do have a poetic mind you know, i'd looove to hear you voice it..

speaking of mesmorised, I have a memory of a sparkling bay at Port Campbell, a place famous for many shipwrecks ..that aside, it was one of the loveliest gifts the ocean has ever offered up to my eyes... now that was magic.....

The beauty lies more in the delivery than in the words. An artist has but a glimpse of time to place themselves in someone's (heart and head) in that order. This is as soothing as it gets and brings the reader a peace/sublimity that doesn't exist much out there anymore. Too much is knock you over the head.....even painful stuff (that makes bank). But you, are a cut above certainly. If it wasn't 6pm here I'd think a bath and a love session with the wife would be in order now....shoot....Oh yeah...I can come back...LOL

Good stuff Lily....really good.

If you liked this, then perhaps you may enjoy 'Reverie, In Reflection' as it has a peaceful tone to it also, Lilla from Orble dipped her toes in, and a colllaboration was born, love it when that happens...

you do paint me with high praise tommy.. not all my poems are peaceful, but lately i have love in my life, and reflects in all that pours from me; as it is bent to do..

baths and love, just go together...and yes you can come back.. more than happy to create mood for sublime time with the divine mrs blogtommy...

Oh Lily...I've experienced Reverie, in reflection already (well more than once)...and you're right....Very similar in the tone. I guess I'm pretty simple in that regard. I'm all about calm and perspective when it comes to poetry/art. It's an escape for me from the radical stuff I may peddle and say elsewhere....Thanks.

I'm glad you didn't cancel your account... perhaps the old adage 'good things take time' may apply.. i'm blogging and enjoying getting to know the people here... so i don't have any expectations.... i just know i love to write, need to write, it consumes me... finding subjects i'm passionate about, isn't hard.. perhaps that's the key...

btw ~ the gardeners walked off the job for Bohemians United .. but i still have the taste garden notes...

I loved your poem and the wonderful image of the kisses on the water and the softness and rhythm of the undulating waves.

I love anything to do with water and it is apparent that you do too, apart from all the other things that feature and emerge in your poetry and we do have in common that small i and the decision to keep using it in poetry.

the only caps i use are for title and first word, sometimes not even... the rest is flow.. why capitalise when it just Interrupts The Flow... the little i doesn't represent a little ego, because i have a huge one, in fact i'm quite hedonistic and can be quite bitchy, i was known as the bitch to my brothers... they reminded me often once the name caught on..

aside from dysfunctional families, i turn to poetry
to indulge in finding a deep voice within me to experience;
some privvy to hear...
cause that's my heart on a sleeve, ya know?
well some of it anyway...
some i'll never share...
intent is the driver, words as vehicles don't
always find the right gear

disclaimer: (~expletive~ i hardly ever have to use these)
smoking drinking and fading to grey...
just joining the ranks of the deranged poets.. fasKinating...
