next time you roll the flint
and feed the wick
watch the first thin line, blue
watch it thin further
and burn down
watch it settle
watch it when it falls out
to a full burgeoning flame
my apologies for the delay in reply dearheart... candles always remind me of a small light in a big dark.. thanks
L i l l a... hope this finds you weller than well.... or at least lighting candles...
You too, always lighting them and insense, especially lately for the dearly departed kitty...
Candles are a way of life at my place. I saw a documentary on TV about this cave somewhere in the middle east, where many generations of one family have kept this same flame going (they say?) since the begining of (human) time.
It is believed that it is the flame of the world, and if it should go out? Well I can't remember exactly, but it wasn't good.
They pray to the flame and stand around it and your picture reminded me of this same amazing flame, which was featured (and shown) in the documentary.
Maybe, spiritually, (I mused) it is this same elemental, cave-flame that keeps the passion alive in the world?
Trust you are also burning brightly, dear Lily-pily?
L i l l a .. ve' interesting.. your comment reminds me of the olympic torch... i like to think that there is an eternal flame .. inside of us or outside, matters not... fire in all it's forms fascinates me... hope you are lit well dearheart..
Wendi, ahh yes, the dance of the flame, and the shadows they create.. joy
Kylar, many thanks.. i sent you an Orble pigeon re: Bohemia..
Kleo.. the picture seems to come alive if you blur your eyes a little and stare at it for a while lol ... late night findings...
Mrs M ~ enticing, indeed... the attraction candles have? .. how bizarre, a little flame on a wick in wax .. to be so powerful...

dark tunnels

us
as a beacon
to light our

The imagery is beautiful, the words alluring, guiding, encouraging?
